PRINCIPLES OF YOGA योग के सिद्धांत

Non-violence (ahimsa) (अहिंसा)
No killing of other beings. Be meek. Be peaceful.

अन्य प्राणियों की हत्या नहीं। विनम्र बनो। शांत रहो।

Truthfulness (satya) सच्चाई (सत्य)
Live in the truth. Basically, be honest with yourself and others. Also no little lies of convenience.

सच्चाई में जियो। मूल रूप से, अपने और दूसरों के प्रति ईमानदार रहें। साथ ही सुविधा का कोई छोटा झूठ नहीं।

A lie is permissible only in well justified situations, for example, if you save with a lie the life of another human being.

एक झूठ केवल उचित स्थितियों में ही स्वीकार्य है, उदाहरण के लिए, यदि आप एक झूठ से दूसरे इंसान की जान बचाते हैं।

A Yogi is silent in doubt. एक योगी संदेह में चुप है।

Those who consistently lives in the truth radiate truth.  जो निरंतर सत्य में रहते हैं वे सत्य का प्रकाश करते हैं।

Their fellow men trust them.  उनके साथी उन पर भरोसा करते हैं।

Righteousness (asteya) धार्मिकता (अस्तेय)
Not stealing, not cheating. चोरी नहीं, धोखा नहीं।

A Yogi is in professional life generally honest. एक योगी पेशेवर जीवन में आम तौर पर ईमानदार होता है।

He does not seek unwarranted advantage, but he is looking for fair trade.

वह अनुचित लाभ नहीं चाहता, बल्कि वह निष्पक्ष व्यापार चाहता है।

Wisdom (brahmacharia) ज्ञान (ब्रह्मचर्य)
Live in the spiritual focus (in the light/in God =Brahman).  आध्यात्मिक ध्यान में रहते हैं (प्रकाश में / भगवान = ब्रह्म में)।

Do not serve the money (outer luck) but the inner happiness (God, Brahman, enlightenment).

धन (बाहरी भाग्य) की नहीं बल्कि आंतरिक खुशी (ईश्वर, ब्रह्म, आत्मज्ञान) की सेवा करो।
Be centered in your inner happiness and peace.

अपने आंतरिक सुख और शांति में केंद्रित रहें।

Simplicity (aparigraha) सरलता (अपरिग्रह)
Be moderate in external enjoyment and consumption. बाह्य भोग और उपभोग में संयम रखें।

A spiritual person lives modestly outwardly and inwardly rich. एक आध्यात्मिक व्यक्ति बाहरी रूप से और आंतरिक रूप से समृद्ध रहता है।

A Yogi uses his energy not in outer actions, but lives so peaceful that it turns inward and cleanse his body from the
inside.

एक योगी अपनी ऊर्जा का उपयोग बाहरी कार्यों में नहीं करता, बल्कि इतनी शांति से रहता है कि वह भीतर की ओर मुड़ता है और अपने शरीर को अंदर से शुद्ध करता है।

One day, he lives permanently in the light. Worship of the spiritual goal (ishvara-pranidhana)

एक दिन, वह स्थायी रूप से प्रकाश में रहता है। आध्यात्मिक लक्ष्य की पूजा (ईश्वर-प्रणिधान)
Thus we do not lose our spiritual path, it is necessary that we remind ourselves again and again to our spiritual goal.

इस प्रकार हम अपने आध्यात्मिक पथ को नहीं खोते हैं, यह आवश्यक है कि हम अपने आप को बार-बार अपने आध्यात्मिक लक्ष्य की याद दिलाएं।

We can worship an image (Goddess, Shiva, Patanjali), we can bow before a statue (Shiva, Buddha etc.) or speak a mantra (prayer).

हम एक छवि (देवी, शिव, पतंजलि) की पूजा कर सकते हैं, हम एक मूर्ति ( शिव,बुद्ध आदि) के सामने झुक सकते हैं या एक मंत्र (प्रार्थना) बोल सकते हैं।

Sacrifice the ego (shaucha) अहंकार का त्याग करें (शौच)
Purification / cleaning. The way into the light passes through the crucifixion of the ego.

शुद्धिकरण / सफाई। प्रकाश का मार्ग अहंकार के सूली पर चढ़ने से होकर गुजरता है।

Without sacrifice of ones ego, there is no enlightenment.

अपने अहंकार के बलिदान के बिना कोई आत्मज्ञान नहीं है।

Who sacrifices his or her ego too much braced themselves internally.

वह जो बहुत अधिक बलिदान करता है, अपने आप को आंतरिक रूप से तैयार करता है।

Who sacrifices too little, does not solves his tensions.

जो बहुत कम त्याग करता है, वह अपने तनावों को हल नहीं करता।

Self-discipline (tapas) आत्म-अनुशासन (तपस)
A clear goal, a clear life plan and a clear way of practicing. Tapas means to lead a disciplined life.

एक स्पष्ट लक्ष्य, एक स्पष्ट जीवन योजना और अभ्यास करने का एक स्पष्ट तरीका। तप का अर्थ है अनुशासित जीवन जीना।

Reading (svadhyaya) पढ़ना (स्वाध्याय)
The daily reading (mantra, meditation) keeps us on the spiritual path, cleanses our spirit, connects us with the the supreme God and makes us to spiritual victors.

दैनिक पठन (मंत्र, ध्यान) हमें आध्यात्मिक पथ पर रखता है, हमारी आत्मा को शुद्ध करता है, हमें परमपिता परमात्मा से जोड़ता है और हमें आध्यात्मिक विजेता बनाता है।

Contentment (santosha) (संतोष)
Satisfied with what one has. जो उसके पास है उससे संतुष्ट है।
